Camping in a friends field in Cornwall in the summer of 2022, Huw Francis realised that he didn't want to spend a moment in London past graduation. He wanted to move west. To surf more and to still make clothes. That is how the Morgroban idea started.

But why a turtle and what does Morgroban even mean?

Well, Morgroban (More-Grow-Ban) is the Cornish word for turtle. Simple enough. But why a turtle is a little more complicated.

See it wasn't just people camping in that field. Huw's friends place was full of animals. Nearly all of them called 'Greg'. Two greg the goats. Greg the pheasant and multiple Greg the chickens but there was only one Greg the turtle. Chilling in the sun and munching on some lettuce. That dude was living the dream.

Even before settling on the name Morgroban, the logo was destined to be a turtle. An homage to Greg and the field where Huw hatched his plan to surf his days away. As the idea for the brand grew so did the desire to have a mascot. That is where Greg as you see him on our clothes comes from.
